Is a MyPetDMV pet driver's license a real license?
No. A MyPetDMV pet drivers license is a novelty photo ID, made for fun and as a backup way to reach you. No government issues it and it doesn't replace the pet license your city or county may require. Keep that official tag on the collar too.
What details print on my pet's ID?
Your pet's photo, name, birthday, sex, height, weight and eye color, plus an address and your emergency phone number. You also sign for your pet in one of eight script fonts. Then pick a restriction, like "No chasing cars" or "Must wear corrective lenses."
Can I make an ID for a pet that isn't a dog or cat?
Yes. The design form has a class for reptiles, birds, horses, fish and exotic pets, plus Other for everyone else. If your bearded dragon can hold still for a photo, it can have a license.
What if I don't have a good photo?
Any clear JPG or PNG works. We touch it up before printing. A front-facing shot like your own license photo looks best. For a plain blue backdrop, pick the Remove Photo Background option (+$3.95). Prefer paper? You can mail us a printed photo instead.
How long does shipping take?
Most orders print within 24 hours and ship from California. Free shipping goes by USPS First Class without tracking and usually arrives in 5 to 7 days. Want a tracking number? Choose paid shipping at checkout.
What does the QR code do?
It opens your pet's online profile, run by our partner ByFido. You can update your contact details and medical notes anytime, with no app and no subscription. If someone scans it, you can get an alert with the location they share.
